My Story

Hi, I’m Callie! Your friendly neighbourhood photographer, truly in love with taking photos. While working with me, I want you to feel comfortable in front of the camera and to know that there is a good friend behind it. I want you to be the best and most genuine you. Your photography day should be special and filled with fun! You shouldn’t have to hide who you are, especially in photos. Your authentic you is the most photogenic thing out there! Whether your photo session is serious or fun, casual or formal, your genuine self will shine through. I believe that memories should be captured, remembered, and shared. Take it from the girl who takes pictures of almost every moment and keeps a scrapbook to look back on!

I had a camera in my hand for as long as I can remember. Photos have always been special to me, it’s a way that we can freeze a moment in time and hold on to it forever. I’ve never had the best memory but when looking back on photos, I’m instantly transferred back in time to that moment and can remember a lot more than if I just tried to think back.

If my photography journey was a trope, it would definitely be friends to lovers. I always enjoyed taking photos but as soon as I got my hands on a Canon Rebel in high school, I gladly went right off the deep end! I loved it! Learning the basics in my photography classes, I knew I wanted to pursue it after I graduated.

I then was accepted into the Photographic Technology program and studied at NAIT in Edmonton, Alberta. It was the best two years of my life. Photography soon became my passion and stress reliever so I like to have fun with it! I fell in love with portraiture but also with a love for animal photography. I label myself as an animal photographer instead of a dog or cat because I believe that unique species don’t get enough recognition. I even did a mini-series during college of a bunch of unique pets people own. I can’t wait to photograph more unique animals in the future!

Photography allows me to capture memories, you make, forever. It feels amazing to look back on photos and think about what a great time it was! Time passes and I’ve been very fortunate to photograph people and pets that are no longer with us. It feels gratifying when someone tells me how thankful they are that I was able to capture those moments.

I now reside in Calgary, Alberta with my amazing partner, Calvin! If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve definitely heard of him! Living in Calgary is a new experience for me but I’m sending good vibes into the universe and pursuing my passion. I can’t wait to see where life takes me!
