FAQ

What should I expect out of a session?

You can expect a whole lot of hype! We’ll meet at the agreed location (or a bit before to get to know you!) and I’ll help guide you through the session. We’ll do some fun poses, and prompts, and have some good laughs! I’ve usually already scouted the location so there is no worry about looking around aimlessly unless we find some hidden gems. Afterward, I give about 2-4 weeks, depending on my workload, to get your photos to you! You’ll get an email linking to a sweet online gallery of your images that you’ll be able to download. You can also request a thumb drive for a small additional fee and any printed products get delivered by me or our nifty mail service depending on where you live!

What do I wear to my session?

First, decide if you want your look to be formal or casual. Try to stay away from logos, and wording, and stick to solid colors over busy patterns. Patterns can be fine for individual or couple portraits but in the case of family or group sessions, solid colors are best!  Try to choose a color palette that everyone can work with, choose a couple of colors so that way the photos look synchronized and flow together but not all match exactly. The best place to start would be with neutrals! If you need help with choosing a look don’t be afraid to reach out! I’d love to help you go through some ideas!

What if I have to reschedule?

Sessions can be rescheduled with 24-hour notice should you have a family situation etc. In the case of bad weather, a reschedule may be required with less than 24hr notice. If you’re super interested in the idea of a rainy session then we can totally talk about it! The retainer fee can be transferred to the rescheduled date but is non-refundable if the session is cancelled completely.

Should I wear my glasses for my session?

If you always wear your glasses then yes! It won’t look like you without them! If you wear transition lenses and have an outdoor session, consider getting another pair without the transition lenses! They don’t have to be fancy, you could borrow from a friend or family member, or just pick out an inexpensive pair. It’ll still look like you and we can still see those beautiful eyes!

When is the best time for an outdoor session?

Depending on the location, we can shoot almost any time of day. The last 2 hours before sunset and the 2 hours following sunrise is the ideal time to shoot outdoors. The quality of light is beautiful and warm, and you’ll feel like you’re glowing!

Do I get digital files?

Yes! Each session you receive a select number of social media resolution files fit for posting online! Prints and other products can be ordered.

How do I get my photos?

You get a lovely online gallery of your photos that you’re able to download. You can also get a thumb drive with your pictures upon request for a small additional fee. Any printed products get delivered by me or our handy dandy mail service depending on where you live!

Are prints from your website for sale?

Absolutely! Photos from my travel and animal adventures are available for purchase in prints, calendars, photo cards, postcards, and various gifts!
