Goodbye 2022, hello 2023! Holy crap, this year went by fast, and what a year it was! I did a post like this last year and I think I’ll be making it a year-end tradition. I love the thought of leaving messages for your past and future self to reflect on and see how much has changed. This year was amazing and I’ll never forget it! I felt like I was finally starting to grow into myself and figure out more about who I am and who I’m supposed to be. I don’t want to get too sappy here, but it was refreshing to feel comfortable in my skin. Enough being deep, let’s talk fun stuff!
I made new friends, took lots of amazing photos, moved to Calgary, and started to be bold. Being a lot more consistent and open about my photography has made me more confident in my art. I’m proud to call myself a photographer and know that there’s only one way to go from here; up! I’m starting to get more comfortable with networking and I think it’s helped a lot. In-person referrals have also been a great help. It’s so interesting to see people’s faces when I tell them that I’m a photographer. It’s like the conversation just got a lot more interesting! It’s so unusual to me when others say they don’t know a photographer. Since I know so many from school, it’s become a normal thing in my life. But now I am the photographer people know, it makes me feel like I have the confidence to do anything!
I’m so thankful for 2022. The photoshoots, adventures, and moments with friends and family, I will never forget. I photographed my first maternity photoshoot, booked some mini sessions, and played around with product photography for a close friend. I photographed many dogs and cats again this year and still hope to photograph more unique pets in the coming year. I’m so excited to go into the new year with confidence in my photography and a great support system behind me. I can’t wait to continue making memories and sharing the love through photos!
My Goals for 2023:
- Play more cozy games
- Promote my photography business
- Make time for friends and family
- That good ol’ self-care
- More unique pet pictures!!
- Continue to post consistently on social media
- Enjoy life!!!
