Legolas is one of my favorite stories to talk about. I was just about to leave a house after photographing a tarantula. Legolas starting walking towards the room and his mom said that he normally doesn’t like people. He doesn’t let strangers get close. But he let me get close, he went up on the bed and started to pose. I quickly asked the woman if I could take photos of Legolas, she gave me a very excited “yes!”. She told me that he was very old and had a heart condition and she was glad that I could take pictures because no one could get close enough without Legolas’ consent. A few months later, I got a message from Legolas’ mom saying that he passed away and how grateful she was that I was able to take photos that day. I love this story because I truly felt like he knew. He knew that this was the last gift that he could give his family. Legolas will be unforgettable to me and I am so honored that he chose me.
